Kirkwood Police Sergeant William Biggs Jr. was shot and killed in the line of duty on February 7, 2008 outside of a City Council meeting where the gunman then killed another officer and three civilians. Sergeant Biggs hit a radio distress signal alerting other officers when the man approached.
Sergeant Biggs served with the Kirkwood Police Department for 20 years and was a FBI National Academy Graduate. He left behind his wife and two adult sons.
We honor and remember Sergeant William Biggs Jr. and the ultimate sacrifice he made for our safety.
