St. Louis Fire Captain Arthur Fette died in the line of duty on February 22, 1960. While fighting a fire in a downtown three story building, the building collapsed resulting in the death of Captain Fette.
Captain Fette served as a firefighter for 43 years. He first served as a firefighter in the Navy in WWI and then as a volunteer firefighter before serving for the St. Louis Fire Department. He left behind his wife and three adult children.
We honor and remember Captain Arthur Fette and the ultimate sacrifice he made for our safety.
