Ivy Burns, daughter of Bonne Terre Police Ptlm. Lane Burns, EOW 3/17/22, recently won first place in the fourth grade category for the Community Teachers Association writing contest. Ivy wrote about her third grade teacher, Mrs. Portell, who helped her tremendously following her father’s death.
Ivy was honored with the award at a school board meeting with Mrs. Portell and her current fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Littrell, by her side.
