Another Polive vs. Fire friendly competition took place in February which brought first responders and the community together to support one mission. Riverview Fire Protection District and the Riverview Police Department battled one another in competition for the best chili in town.

Droves of people packed the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bellefontaine Neighbors to get in on the action and to support BackStoppers. Fourteen chili dishes were presented in the competition, overall the Blue team claimed victory. Officer Justin Spradlin of the Riverview Police Department was the 2020 champion.

In addition to the entry donation, proceeds from raffles, silent auctions, 50/50s and commemorative shirts brought in a total of over $4,000 for BackStoppers!

Thank you Kim Sextro and Sarah Jurgena for making this fundraiser a success. It is this kind of dedication to the families we serve that makes our mission possible. We are extremely grateful for the first responders that participated and the attendees that spent their time supporting the community and our cause. We are looking forward to the 2021 Red vs. Blue Chili and Brew!
