Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Sergeant Peggy Vassallo died in the line of duty on August 24, 2015 when she was struck and killed by a vehicle while assisting at the scene of an unrelated accident.
Sergeant Vassallo ran the D.A.R.E. neighborhood watch programs and was the Community Relations Officer for the Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department. She left behind her husband and adult children.
