Wellston Police Sergeant Jesse Henderson was shot and killed in the line of duty on October 1, 1981 when he approached a burglary at a liquor store
Sergeant Henderson was was a 12-year veteran of law enforcement and had previously served as Chief of Police of the Wellston Police Department. He left behind his wife and 11 children.
