Lakeshire Police Officer Ronald Strittmatter died in the line of duty on January 3, 2015 when he suffered a heart attack while attempting to help an elderly person.
Officer Strittmatter retired from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department after 24 years of service, and had served with the Lakeshire Police Department for four years. He left behind his wife and son.
