Chesterfield Police Officer Joseph Smith died in the line of duty on March 3, 2013 after suffering a heart attack in his home following his shift.
Officer Smith was a 31-year law enforcement veteran who served with the Chesterfield Police Department for 17 years. He received the Crusade Against Crime Medal of Valor and the U.S. Attorney’s Office Distinguished Service Medal. He left behind his wife, two sons and daughter.
