Arnold Police Officer John LeCompte died in the line of duty on November 21, 1976 after succumbing to gunshot wounds sustained 29 days prior when he was shot by a burglary suspect.
Officer LeCompte served with the Arnold Police Department for two years. He left behind his two daughters.
