Maplewood Firefighter Ryan Hummert was shot and killed in the line of duty on July 21, 2008 when he was shot by a sniper while responding to a fire call.
Firefighter Hummert served with the Maplewood Fire Department for almost a year, and he graduated from the St. Louis Fire Academy four months earlier
