St. Francois County Deputy Sheriff Steven Ziegler died in the line of duty on September 29, 2001 when a tractor trailer detached and struck his vehicle.
Deputy Sheriff Ziegler served with the St. Francois Sheriff’s Department for eight years and also served with the Bismark Police Department. He left behind his wife and four children.
