Jefferson County Deputy Sherriff James Garrison died in the line of duty on July 3, 1982 when his patrol car was struck while attempting to intercept two vehicles that were drag racing.
Deputy Sheriff Garrison served with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years. He left behind his wife and five children.
