St. Louis Fire Captain Roy Simpson died in the line of duty on January 10, 1962. While fighting a fire in a downtown St. Louis building, Captain Simpson suffered an apparent heart attack and died a short time later.
Captain Simpson served with the St. Louis Fire Department for 19 years. He left behind his wife and two sons.
