Affton Fire Captain James Cova died in the line of duty on July 9, 2024 of a cardiac event after responding to multiple calls; he was found unresponsive at the Fire Protection District.
Captain Cova was 54 years old and had served with the Affton Fire Protection District for over 23 years. He left behind his wife and two daughters.
