Alibi 25’s First BackStoppers Event a Success!

Alibi 25 BBQAlibi 25 kept six bands playing all day long while serving up BBQ, drinks, and a great atmosphere under a large tent at their first fundraiser for The BackStoppers.

Owner and Manager Denise Gestring was overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from the community.  Local businesses donated fantastic items, and the silent auction grew to 30 baskets. With the generosity of the businesses and individuals who came out to enjoy the live music and food on a hot day, Alibi 25 smashed their goal of raising $2,000 and donated a total $5,000 to The BackStoppers!

Roderick and Victoria Support The BackStoppers!

When Roderick and Victoria and each of their siblings were tasked with deciding on a project to complete this summer, Roderick chose organizing a lemonade stand and donating the proceeds to BackStoppers. 7-year old Roderick and 4-year old Victoria worked the lemonade stand all morning and then afternoon long on a hot day earlier this week and raised $110.00!

We were lucky enough to meet Roderick and Victoria at our office where they presented us and officers with the Frontenac Police Department with their donation. The two impressed us with their concern for public servants and families of fallen first responders. Roderick and Victoria received gifts of goodie bags from the Frontenac Police Department, and Victoria spent the rest of her day talking excitedly about having met the police officers.

Ashtynn’s Lemonade Stand for BackStoppers

Ashtynn's Lemonade Stand

Ashtynn at her lemonade stand for BackStoppers

6-year old Ashtynn saw a YouTube video of a lemonade stand for charity and decided to do the same for BackStoppers.  After sitting at her lemonade stand for six hours and selling every cup herself, Ashtynn had raised $1,105.05 for families of fallen first responders!  Then, Ashtynn and her family visited local police and fire departments to drop off baskets full of snacks.

Many area firefighters and paramedics, including High Ridge Fire Chief Mike Arnhart and Capt. Ron Arnhart with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, came out to enjoy some refreshing lemonade on a hot day, and the High Ridge Fire Department made sure the stand was shaded under a big tent.
