The BackStoppers is now assisting the family of Deputy Sheriff Paul Clark of the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department who died in the line of duty on July 4, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained months prior.  On October 27, 2015, Deputy Clark’s patrol car was struck by a suspect who was fleeing the scene of a traffic stop.  Deputy Clark suffered a broken back that resulted in multiple surgeries.

Deputy Clark, who was 55-years old, was an 18 year veteran of law enforcement.  He served with the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years and had previously served with the Park Hills Police Department for five years.  He leaves behind his wife and two adult children.  Deputy Paul Clark’s family, friends, and co-workers will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
